Challenge: The challenge for this project was to come up with and design a full and cohesive branding identity with matching collateral.
Solution: A simple yet warm design that brings the ideas of sun set and late night snacks together into one cohesive idea. Using a minimal color pallet and typography keeps the brand welcoming while emphasizing the laid back environment.
About Sun Down
Sun Down is more than a take out restaurant. It is a place to call late at night when your homesick, lonely and just need your grandma’s special meat loaf. Marketed towards the college students with those late night study sessions or those who cannot cook their own food but crave the comfort of home. Warm and delicious food is delivered promptly to your own home. Bringing this restaurant to life through careful design decisions regarding color, font, and layout. This branding projects combines many aspects of branding including logo design, the restaurant storefront, menu design, business system and collateral.
Starting with some sketches and an idea, I wanted to create a warm and welcoming environment through design that would invite viewers to order into the comfort of their own home. I knew to do this that the designs needed to be soft and friendly with a warm color pallet.
The Process
After sketching and trying many a type face, I chose a minimal script that was warm and welcoming like a sunset. Once the font was chosen, I was then able to go in and add the warm golden sunset on the horizon.

An elegant yet simple menu that was easily readable when stuck on a fridge with a magnet.
The menu uses elegant and clear typography and layout to carry the eye in vertical lines across the page, making you eager to see what options you have.
Advertisements were created with bold eye-catching colors to create a memorable and lasting impression.

All of the previous ideas into a professional and clean design while still maintaining the warm and welcoming environment is brought into the companies business system and collateral.
